Everton striker Fraser Hornby is set to jet out for talks about joining Belgian side KV Kortrijk, Football Insider understands.

The Premier League big hitters have fielded enquiries from a number of English Football League and Scottish Premiership clubs about Hornby's availability on loan in recent weeks.

An Everton source has told Football Insider that Kortrijk are in pole position to sign Hornby and he has packed his bags to travel to Belgium on Wednesday for talks about a potential loan move.

The Merseysiders are happy to loan out Hornby so that he can get valuable first-team experience under his belt as he is unlikely to get many opportunities under Marco Silva this season.

There is growing confidence that a move can be finalised this week, well before the Belgian window closes at the end of the month.

Scotland Under-21 international Hornby joined Everton from Northampton in 2014 and he is very highly regarded at Goodison Park.

He made his first-team debut in a Europa League clash with Apollon Limassol in 2017 and he has been a regular scorer in the club's Under-23s side.
