Alex Bruce claims the whole Tottenham team may be sold as he tipped Willian to sign from Chelsea.
The former Premier League defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, believes that the Lilywhites have been far too inconsistent for Mourinho’s liking.
As revealed exclusively by Football Insider, Tottenham are plotting to offer Chelsea winger Willian a substantial contract offer to seal his signing on a free transfer this summer.
Bruce insists that the Brazilian is the sort of consistent performer Mourinho needs, suggesting quality signings pose a threat to everyone.
Bruce told Football Insider: “I think everybody’s future is under threat at Spurs, purely because they haven’t hit the heights where they should be.
“I think that’s pretty evident to everybody and I’m sure that you certainly wouldn’t need to tell Mourinho that. He’ll know exactly where he needs to strengthen.
“We all know what kind of league the Premier League is in terms of the demands it has and when you’re a team like Tottenham, one thing you really need is to be there or there about at the top end of the table.
“At the minute, they’ve been too up and down in terms of performance levels. It doesn’t surprise me that the likes of Willian, who’s a consistent performer, they’re the type of players Mourinho will want around the squad.
” At the minute, the players have been too up and down and you can’t get away with it.”
Tottenham currently sit eighth in the Premier League table and are out of the Champions League after defeat to RB Leipzig.
