Exclusive: Bruce in awe of Leeds 28-yr-old he says is loved in the dressing room
Alex Bruce has hailed Stuart Dallas as “under the radar” player who is a huge favourite in the Leeds United dressing room.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Russell Edge, the ex-Leeds defender explained why the Northern Ireland international may be appreciated more by his teammates than supporters.
The 28-year-old has reignited his career this season and maintained his ever-present league record by starting today’s 1-0 win against Bristol City at Elland Road.
Dallas has slotted back into left-back this week following the return of Kalvin Phillips from suspension, in a campaign in which he’s regularly played in both full-back positions as well as in various central and wide midfield roles.
Bruce told Football Insider: “I look back at teams I’ve played in over the years, he’s one of those lads who he’s the first name on the team sheet because you know what you’re going to get out of him.
“He’s a consistent performer, does exactly what it says on the tin, he’s one of them that goes under the radar but he’s really appreciated by his teammates because when you’re in the Championship, you need those steady-eddies who are going to give you seven out of tens every week and he’s one of them.”

Dallas has remarkably started all 33 of Leeds’ Championship games this term and chipped in with three goals.
Marcelo Bielsa further demonstrated his faith in the versatile performer by sanctioning a new contract last autumn that runs until the summer of 2023.
In other Leeds United news, Bruce questions whether Jean-Kevin Augustin is “really toxic” in Football Insider exclusive.
