Alex Bruce claims that Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster is the exact sort of player Leeds United should be looking to sign in the summer transfer window.
The former Leeds and Republic of Ireland defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insists that Marcelo Bielsa needs to get more goals out of his side and that the promising centre-forward could be the solution.
As revealed exclusively by Football Insider, the Whites have set their sights on signing the 20-year-old if they get promoted and if Liverpool let him out on loan again next season.
The Whites were keen on taking the England under-21 international on loan in January but Liverpool opted to send him to Swansea City on the basis he would get more game time with the Welsh outfit.
Bruce insists they should chase the youngster again this summer, suggesting that there would be many clubs who would like to take him from Anfield.
Bruce told Football Insider: “He’s definitely someone I would be looking at because they need goals.
“Signing someone like him is definitely something that would tickle any club in my opinion. He’s young, he’s hungry, he’s done alright at Swansea, he’s got big potential.
“Those are the sort of players they should be looking at.”
Brewster has made just three appearances for Liverpool’s senior side since breaking through the youth ranks, all of which have come in cup competitions.
He has been a mainstay for Swansea since his January move, starting all but one of his 11 outings and scoring four goals.
In other Leeds United news, it can be REVEALED the club are facing a massive £25million bill.
