Burnley defender Ali Koiki is set to quit the club after rejecting a new contract, Football Insider can reveal.

The Premier League’s retained list published last week revealed that the left-back, 20, had been offered an extension by the Clarets.

A Burnley source has told Football Insider that Koiki has made up his mind to leave when his current deal expires today.

He will then be able to join a new club as a free agent.

It is understood that the rising star has interest from clubs in the Championship, League One and abroad.

Koiki is unhappy with his lack of first team opportunities after being named on the bench on a number of occasions but failing to make the line-up.

Remarkably, he has scored 10 goals from left-back for Burnley Under-23s this season.

The player and his camp believes this should have been enough to catch the eye of first-team boss Sean Dyche and make his senior debut.

But that has not been the case and Koiki has been left waiting for his debut two years after first penning professional terms.

At Burnley, the first choice left-back is Charlie Taylor, who has strong competition for his place from Erik Pieters.

In other news, Burnley have agreed new terms with a senior star after a breakthrough in talks.
