Exclusive: Celtic make move to sign young Stoke striker for 6-figure fee
Celtic have indicated their willingness to rival Premier League big guns for the signing of Stoke City sensation Mohamed Sankoh this summer, Football Insider can reveal.
This site has already revealed Everton have joined Chelsea in the race to recruit the striker, 16, from the Bet365 Stadium.
A Celtic source has told Football Insider the club have made contact to express their interest in Sankoh ahead of his youth contract expiring.
The rising star can be prised from Stoke for a compensation fee this summer as he has yet to sign professional terms.
The earliest point the young centre-forward could do so would be when he turns 17 in October.
Cross-border rules mean Celtic would not have to pay more than £300,000 for the rising star in any case.

The Scottish champions have had great success in luring top young talent from south of the border in recent years.
Last summer, Jeremie Frimpong was signed from Man City at the age of 18 and has already established himself as a first-team star, while fellow teen stars Luca Connell and Jonathan Afolabi were signed from Bolton Wanderers and Southampton respectively.
Going further back, Celtic signed Moussa Dembele from Fulham for £300,000 in 2017 and sold him for £19m two years later.
The Hoops have scouted Sankoh frequently and been impressed by his development as a physically imposing and athletic front man with an eye for goal.
The Holland Under-17 international, who joined the Potters in the summer of 2018, has scored nine goals and supplied nine assists at Under-18 level this season.
In other Celtic news, it can be REVEALED that the club have agreed a jawdropping £30m-plus commercial deal to put Rangers in the shade.
