Exclusive: Celtic star set to quit after rival club table five-year offer tripling his salary

Kieran Tierney is close to quitting Celtic after after being offered a triple-your-money contract by Arsenal, Football Insider can reveal.

The left-back, 22, is in talks to join the Premier League giants as he prepares to leave Parkhead for a £20million-plus transfer before the window shuts next week.

A Celtic source has told Football Insider the club do not expect to hold on to Tierney following Arsenal’s concerted attempts to sign him in recent weeks.

The Hoops are confident of a Scottish-record sale that will be close to their £25million valuation of their academy product, who is eager to join one of England’s elite clubs.

Arsenal are refusing to back down in their pursuit of Tierney and have offered his camp a lucrative five-year contract that would see the Scotland international’s wages of around £25,000-a-week triple.

The defender has also attracted interest from Napoli but has his heart set on a move to the Premier League big hitters.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has made a concerted move for Tierney as he regards him as one of Europe’s outstanding young left-backs who can thrive in a flat back four or in a more advanced wing-back role.

Tierney, who has four years remaining on the six-year contract in 2017, has already won five league titles among 11 major trophies at Celtic.

The Scottish giants have already secured a replacement for Tierney by signing Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo earlier in the summer.
