Danny Mills blasted Tottenham attacker Lucas Moura for his lack of consistency, especially when compared to Spurs teammate Heung-min Son.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O’Leary, the former England international claimed that Moura was a frustration for most managers as he doesn’t regularly deliver the goods.
The 27-year-old has scored four goals and registered two assists in the 18 appearances he has made for Spurs across all competitions this season.
Mills explained that Moura was on the same level as Son quality-wise, but just needed to be more consistent in order to be considered a top player.
When asked about Moura being a frustrating player, Mills told Football Insider: “I think it’s the consistency for Lucas Moura that is the frustration for most managers.
“When you look at Son on the other side, he very rarely has a bad game, he works incredibly hard for the team, he’s unselfish, he scores, he assists, all these things, he’s fabulous.
“If Moura can add that consistency…he has the same quality of Heung-min Son, it’s just finding that consistency level that he needs to put himself as a top player.”
Moura has been with Spurs since January 2018 after joining from French giants Paris Saint Germain.
The Brazilian winger is contracted to stay with the London club until 2024 after signing a contract extension in August 2019.
In other Tottenham news, Paul Robinson has told Football Insider how ‘Spurs scouts are looking at signing’ brilliant centre-back who’s price tag rocketing by the week.
