Danny Mills claims that a “lot of clubs” will have joined Liverpool in keeping tabs on Ben White’s performances at Leeds United this season.
The former Leeds and England defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, says that the centre-back’s impressive displays at Elland Road will have caught the eye of a number of sides across the country.
Mills says that there is still a long way to go until White has offers on the table to move clubs but that there will be plenty of potential suitors keeping a very close eye on his performances over the next couple of months.
Mills told Football Insider: “He’s done very, very well. It only takes three games and people start watching you. I think he needs to have a full season first. We’re 10 games in and he’s played very, very well in that period.
“Of course he’s going to be on people’s radar and why shouldn’t he be, but being on the radar and them putting a bid in are completely different. There’s a lot of teams, I’m sure, that will be watching him because he’s done very, very well.
“I’m sure as a player it’s always flattering that other people are watching but you’ve got to prove that.”
White has established himself as a mainstay under Marcelo Bielsa this season, taking the place of Pontus Jansson at the heart of the Leeds defence alongside Liam Cooper.
He has not played a single game for Brighton’s first-team, with the Championship the highest level he has featured at after loans in League One and Two.
