Exclusive: Darren Bent singles out 'Integral' West Ham star in 'Massive' relegation claim
Darren Bent insists that West Ham attacker Michail Antonio is going to be “integral” to the Hammers’ hopes of avoiding relegation this season.
The former Tottenham and England hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, says that 29-year-old is an “absolute nuisance” for the opposition, even if he is not the most technically gifted of players.
Hammers boss David Moyes has started the versatile forward for the last five Premier League games, three of those appearances coming as a centre-forward.
Bent says that while there might be other players with more quality, Antonio possesses attributes which make him a nightmare to play against.
Bent told Football Insider: “He’s going to be massive. There’s probably going to be players in the squad with more natural ability – their touch and creativity.
“When you’re talking about pace, power and being an absolute nuisance, there’s no one better than him. He is integral.

“I thought when he came up against Arsenal, that he was somebody that Arsenal would hate to play against. I thought they’d look at that and gone: ‘He’s everything Arsenal would hate to play against – big, powerful, quick.'”
The former Nottingham Forest star has a total of 17 appearances under his belt this season, with two goals and two assists to his name.
The Irons’ next three games sees them take on teams flying high in the Premier League, with home ties against Wolves and Chelsea sandwiching a visit to Tottenham.
