Darren Bent revealed he was baffled that West Ham weren’t creating enough chances for attacker Sebastien Haller to fire home.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O’Leary, the former Premier League forward didn’t seem to understand why Haller wasn’t getting the service he needed to succeed given that West Ham have players like Manuel Lanzini and Felipe Anderson to call upon.
Haller has scored four goals in 10 appearances for the Hammers since joining from Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer, but 50% of his goals came in the 3-1 win over bottom-of-the-league Watford.
Bent claimed it was difficult for Haller to score if he was getting no service and pointed out that the 25-year-old has proven already that he was capable of burying chances for West Ham if they were created for him.
When asked about Haller having an impossible task due to getting hardly any service, Bent told Football Insider: “Yeah it’s a weird one.
“We’ve seen him get chances and bury them, but it’s difficult for him to score if he is getting no service, but why is he getting no service?
“West Ham have some talented players like Lanzini, Anderson, Snodgrass and Yarmolenko who can create chances so why aren’t they?”
Haller is currently leading West Ham’s scoring charts due to his four goals and on average has registered a goal every 203 minutes of action.
The Frenchman has attempted 14 shots on goal across his ten outings for the club with 71% of his efforts hitting the target.
