Exclusive: Ex-striker drools over Celtic player 'loving life at Parkhead'
Noel Whelan has claimed that Callum McGregor is beginning to reach the peak of his powers in a Celtic shirt.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Aberdeen striker suggested that the 26-year-old midfielder has entered the most productive stage of his career.
McGregor has been in fine form of late, and registered two assists and a goal in his most recent outing for the Hoops – the 4-0 win over Motherwell last week.
And Whelan believes that the Scottish international is raising the bar for his teammates too.
“He’s coming into the best years of his career, of his footballing ability,” he told Football Insider.
“26 to 30 is usually when you get the best out of yourself.

“It seems to be coming to fruition, and Celtic seem to have got themselves a very, very good winner with every attribute that you want. Not only is he assisting goals, but he’s scoring goals as well.
“He seems to be loving life at Parkhead, and he’s a player who I’m sure they appreciate the quality he has.
“He’s started off the second half of this season very well, and he’s setting the standards.”
McGregor has been a fixture of Neil Lennon’s midfield so far this season, starting every single one of the Bhoys’ 25 Scottish Premiership matches to date.
He has also proven himself to be a highly effective creative force, registering nine goals and nine assists in 42 appearances across all competitions this term.
