Fulham have turned their attention to signing Crystal Palace defender Scott Dann, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
The 33-year-old has emerged as a target for the Cottagers after multiple moves for centre-halves collapsed this month.
This site revealed last night that Norwich City had rejected Fulham’s approach to sign Ben Godfrey and that only a “crazy” offer could tempt them into parting with the 22-year-old.
The London club’s pursuit of Sassuolo defender Marlon has also fallen through after The Athletic reported that the Brazilian had failed a medical.
A source at Craven Cottage has told Football Insider that Dann is now on Fulham’s radar as they assess a potential permanent move.
The 33-year-old is into the final year of his contract at Selhurst Park and Palace have just made him available for sale as they look to trim their wage bill.
Dann, who has missed the last two Premier League games through injury, captained the Eagles to their opening day win against Southampton earlier this month.
The Liverpool-born centre-half has made 167 appearances for the London club since arriving from Blackburn in January 2014.
A 3-0 home defeat to Aston Villa last night highlighted Fulham’s defensive frailties – Scott Parker’s side have no conceded 10 goals in their opening three Premier League fixtures.
Director of Football, Tony Khan, took to Twitter in the aftermath of the loss to apologise to fans for the performance and explain the club’s difficulties in recruiting a centre-back.
I apologize to @FulhamFC supporters for our performance tonight. We’ve looked to add centre-backs since Wembley, I’m sorry we haven’t yet as 2 got COVID + we lost a Free we thought was close + had another issue with a 4th CB. I promise players in + better efforts from this squad.

Dann would become Scott Parker’s eighth summer signing following the arrivals of Anthony Knockhaert, Harrison Reed, Kenny Tete, Ola Aina, Mario Lemina, Atonee Robinson and Alphonse Areola.
Next up for the Cottagers is a trip to Brentford in the Last 16 of the EFL Cup on Thursday night.
