Emile Smith Rowe has been carrying Arsenal in recent weeks, according to Kevin Campbell.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gunners striker and longstanding fan heaped praise on Smith Rowe and claimed he is making the difference at the moment.
The 20-year-old has started Arsenal’s last five Premier League games after not featuring at all in their first 14 league fixtures.
His introduction to the side has coincided in Arsenal’s upturn in form with his first appearance against Chelsea ending a run of seven winless games.
They are unbeaten with Smith Rowe in the side who has three assists to his name in the league.
Since he has come into the side the Hale End academy graduate has created 10 chances, the second-highest in the division in that time behind Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes who has 12.
“It’s an amazing stat to have and it is a big compliment to him,” Campbell told Football Insider.
“He is only 20-years-old but he influences games and is making the difference at the moment.
“Along with Saka, he has been carrying the team. They have been linking up very well, they are special. Two very special players and they know where each other are on the pitch which really helps.”
In addition to his five appearances in the league, Smith Rowe has played five games in the Europa League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup this season.
The London-born ace has now played 22 times across all competitions for the Gunners since his senior debut in September 2018.
