Leeds United have tabled a seven-figure loan offer for Manchester City winger Jack Harrison, Football Insider can reveal.
The Championship giants are in talks to re-sign the 22-year-old for a second consecutive campaign after Marcelo Bielsa gave the green light to wrap up an early-window deal.
A Leeds source has told Football Insider that the club have offered a £1million-plus loan fee for Harrison as they look to beat rival English clubs to his signature.
Harrison’s loan at Elland Road last season was a mixed bag of inconsistent performances marked by occasional flashes of excellence, such as the sensational cross for Kemar Roofe’s goal in the play-off semi-final first leg against Derby County.
But Bielsa is convinced Harrison can be moulded into a consistent matchwinner and instructed the club to try and sign him.
Harrison believes a return to Elland Road for a second loan would be ideal for his career development as he is well down the pecking order at Man City.
Manager Pep Guardiola has a close relationship with Bielsa and is willing to sanction a third loan spell for the wide man, who joined the Premier League champions from their sister club New York City in January of last year before being loaned straight out to Middlesbrough.
As reported by Football Insider, Bielsa wants at least two signings “in the building” by the end of the month, and he is hopeful that the Harrison deal can be completed imminently.
The winger scored four goals and supplied four assists from 42 Championship appearances last season and was a regular starter in the Leeds side.
In other Leeds United news, it can be REVEALED that a Whites fans favourite wanted by Premier League clubs is set to tell Marcelo Bielsa this week that he wants to quit.
