Leicester City rising star Calvin Ughelumba is set to quit the club after rejecting a new deal, Football Insider understands.
The left-back, 20, has been on the radar of other Premier League clubs as well as some Scottish Premiership big hitters.
A Leicester source has told Football Insider that the club have tabled the offer of a new and improved contract to Ughelumba.
But he has knocked it back as he looks to secure a move to a club where he can get his first taste of senior football.
The Foxes academy product was on the radar of West Ham in January and they made a move for him at the end of that window.
But the Hammers are not pushing to sign Ughelumba this summer amid doubt over their Premier League status for next season.
Leicester expect him to secure a move to new club ahead of his contract expiring.
Ughelumba has come through the youth ranks at Leicester after joining the club in 2015 following a successful trial.
The 20-year-old, who can play at left-back as well as centre-back, has yet to make his first-team debut for Brendan Rodgers’ side.
But has been a regular for Leicester’s Under-18s and Under-23s side and featured for them in the UEFA Youth League.
The athletic defender has made 40 appearances for the Foxes’ Under-23s, including 14 in Premier League 2 in the prematurely-terminated 2019-20 campaign.
In other Leicester City news, it can be REVEALED that the club have handed a big promotion to whizzkid to fend off interest from Arsenal.
