Luton Town have opened talks to sign Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall for next season, Football Insider understands.

The Foxes are happy to send the 21-year-old out on another temporary spell this summer after he impressed with Blackpool during the second half of the 2019/20 campaign.

A source at the King Power Stadium has told Football Insider that Luton are in discussions to take the hot prospect to Kenilworth Road on loan for a season in the Championship.

The young midfielder is a graduate of Leicester's youth system and has one first-team appearance under his belt for the Foxes so far.

He made his debut off the bench against Brentford in the FA Cup back in January, just days before he made the temporary switch to League One with Blackpool.

Dewsbury-Hall immediately established himself as a mainstay at Bloomfield Road and other than a substitute appearance in his first game at the club, he started and played every minute of the club's league matches.

He scored a total of four goals for the Tangerines, including on his debut against Wycombe Wanderers, and his form has caught the eye of clubs higher up the divisions.

Now Luton, who managed to scrape to survival in the Championship last season, are hoping to strike a deal with Leicester and believe the promise of playing in the second tier could persuade both player and club.

Hatters boss Nathan Jones has already brought one new face through the door in the shape of winger Jordan Clark on a free transfer.

Ryan Tunnicliffe and Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu were the first-choice midfield pairing at Kenilworth Road last season with 40 and 44 league appearances respectively.
