Chelsea are making good progress on three stunning £50million-plus signings, Football Insider can reveal.

The big-spending Blues are closing in on the captures of Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Kai Havertz and Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell.

A source at Stamford Bridge has told Football Insider that Chelsea plan to get those deals over the line for making a concerted move for West Ham's Declan Rice.

Owner Roman Abramovich has given the green light to the London giants spending more than £50m on each of Havertz, Chilwell and Rice this window.

This comes after two statement signings were bagged earlier in the window when Frank Lampard recruited Hakim Ziyech from Ajax and Timo Werner from RB Leipzig.

The Foxes were initially asking for £80million but this site revealed on 5 August the Blues were confident of striking a deal for around £50m following extensive negotiations.

Chelsea are also making good progress on sealing the Havertz deal and are preparing a new offer of over £70m to get the transfer over the finish line.

The big-spending west Londoners remain in pursuit of Rice and have not been put off by West Ham's £80m asking price.

Football Insider has been told Chelsea have made clear their interest in the versatile midfield anchorman - who Lampard also sees as a future international and Champions League centre-back - and are preparing a number of offers to force his former club into a sale.
