Luton Town and Wycombe Wanderers are both in talks to sign Jacques Maghoma, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
The 32-year-old is available on a free transfer after he was released by Birmingham City upon the expiration of his contract at the end of June.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that the two Championship clubs have entered talks with the player’s representatives over a deal.
Maghoma made 21 appearances for Birmingham City last season but featured predominantly as a substitute under Pep Clotet.
He has a wealth of experience in the Championship from his time at St Andrews, Burton Albion and Sheffield Wednesday.
His 225 appearances in the competition have yielded 23 goals and 28 assists.
The attacker has been called up to play for DR Congo during the international break despite currently being without a club.
Maghoma, who can play in numerous positions across the midfield and front line, has made 21 appearances for his country and scored once.
Nathan Jones, who was appointed Luton manager in May, is look to build upon a 19th placed finish in the 2019/20 campaign.
He has already bolstered his squad with the arrival of Jordan Clark and Tom Lockyer while James Bree and Rhys Norrington-Davies have been resigned after successful loan spells.
