Frank McAvennie has suggested that Fraser Forster has until the weekend to decide whether he wants to return to Celtic this summer.
The former Hoops striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, insisted it is decision time for the 32-year-old with just over two weeks until the Scottish Premiership kicks off.
James Forrest urged the winger to return to Parkhead while at their pre-season training base at Loughborough University.
Forster has so far failed to agree a return to Glasgow despite an agreement being reached between the Hoops and Southampton for a second season-long loan.
McAvennie has claimed that Lennon will make a firm move for another goalkeeper if Forsster does not make a decision this week.
“I understand Forster wanting to go and get a permanent move but Celtic cannot afford that,” he told Football Insider.
“Why would he not want to go to Celtic?
“Knowing Lenny the way I do, he will give the boy a bit of time but it will come to a point when enough is enough and that will be it. Lenny will just go and get somebody else.
“They need to get it sorted because it is only a couple of weeks before the season starts. Luckily goalkeepers are lazy so they do not need to train as much as everyone else!
“Lenny will be disappointed with the Forster situation but he will give him a chance, maybe another couple of days.”
