Jackie McNamara has suggested Adama Traore has fallen out with Nuno Espirito Santo as a result of his lack of game time at Wolves this season.
The Midlands giants broke their transfer record last summer to sign Traore, 23, in an £18million deal from Middlesbrough, a record subsequently broken with the Raul Jimenez permanent capture.
The explosive attacker has made just eight league starts among his 35 appearances this season and has had to settle for 20 substitute appearances in top flight matches.
Traore’s campaign has included just one goal and three assists, and ex-Wolves and Celtic star McNamara claims there could be a major behind-the-scenes issue.
“Maybe he’s had a fall out because he’s not played as much as he wanted and obviously the manager makes decisions, the manager is always right when it comes to that,” McNamara told Football Insider.
“Traore may be frustrating him with the amount of times he’s through and he’s not passed it across or he’s not given somebody else a tap in.
“He’s quick, powerful – obviously he has a lot to improve on with his decision making in the final third and I think that obviously his downfall because he has got something that you can’t teach in pace and power.
“What he’s got in his armoury, if he has the other bits there then he takes it to another level. It’s whether or not he can do that.”
Wolves have had a triumphant return to the Premier League under Nuno this season.
The Midlands club have already secured seventh place regardless of the outcome of Sunday’s finale against title chasers Liverpool at Anfield.
In other Midlands giants transfer news, it can be the REVEALED that the club are readying a £30million move for a Villa player after jetting in for a transfer mission.
