Liverpool are putting the finishing touches to the signing of Polish sensation Mateusz Musialowski, Football Insider has learned.
This site exclusively revealed yesterday the new Premier League champions have had a bid accepted for the 16-year-old teen by his club SMS Lodz and agreed personal terms with him.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Musialowski has completed a Liverpool medical and finalised the paperwork of his move.
All that remains is for a few details to be tied up before the rising star announces his move.
Liverpool will pay a six-figure fee to SMS Lodz for his training and development costs.
He has agreed the terms of a scholarship contract that is set to be converted into a professional deal when he turns 17.
Musialowski has been spoken of in Poland as a generation-defining talent since he was just 13 and has been closely watched by talent spotters from Europe’s biggest clubs in the last three years.
He has dazzled at youth-team tournaments with his goalscoring and creative play and regularly been named the outstanding performer.
Capped by Poland at Under-17 level, Musialowski is a skilful forward capable of operating in any of the main forward positions or in a playmaker role behind the spearhead.
He is set to initially link up with Liverpool’s Under-18s and Under-23s squads before pushing for their first team.
