Everton striker Fraser Hornby has completed a medical at Stade Reims and is set to finalise the transfer in the next 48 hours, Football Insider can reveal.

The Merseysiders have accepted an offer from the French club for the Scotland Under-21 international and the deal is set to complete in the coming days.

An Everton source has told Football Insider that Hornby underwent a medical with the Ligue 1 club last week and has agreed to sign a four-year contract.

The Merseysiders have also accepted an offer from Stade Reims for the 6ft 4in striker they signed from Northampton six years.

Reports in France have stated that will be £1.8million.

Hornby is now set to leave Goodison Park after featuring just once for their first team, in a Europa League clash three years ago.

He has spent the season on loan at Belgian side KV Kortrijk, a move this site first revealed last August.

Hornby made a creditable impression, scoring four goals and supplying one assist from 16 matches this season before it was terminated prematurely.

He has done enough to secure a move to the team that finished sixth in Ligue 1 this season.

It's a deal that also secures a major profit for Everton, who signed Hornby for just £65,000 when he was in his early teens.

Everton are already looking at alternative strikers to bring to their productive youth set-up.

But they face competition for the services of the Sweden-based 18-year-old from Man City.
