Nottingham Forest and Barnsley are plotting bids to sign AZ Alkmaar striker Bjorn Johnsen, Football Insider understands.
Championship duo Forest and Barnsley are both keen to strengthen their attacking options before the transfer window closes next month.
Forest and Barnsley sources have told Football Insider that powerful Norway international front man Johnsen figures highly on their wanted lists.
Former Hearts forward Johnsen has impressed in the Eredivisie since leaving the Scottish Premiership in 2017.
The 27-year-old finished as second top scorer in Holland during the 2017/18 season at ADO Den Haag, with his tally of 19 goals earning him a move to AZ Alkmaar last summer.
Johnsen caught not quite reach the same heights at AZ, although his 25 matches still yielded seven goals, six of which came in league matches.
The centre-forward has also caught the eye of Forest and Barnsley scouts on the international scene having netted five goals in 13 games for Norway.
