Blackburn Rovers forward Ben Brereton is a target for Alan Pardew at ADO Den Haag, Football Insider understands.
New ADO Den Haag boss Pardew is targeting players from England to bolster his squad during this month’s transfer window and the 20-year-old has emerged on his radar.
A source at Blackburn has told Football Insider that it remains to be seen whether the Championship club will allow Brereton to exit as they are short of attacking options after losing Bradley Dack to long-term injury.
Pardew has set his sights on Brereton and hopes he can persuade Blackburn to let him join the Dutch club on loan for the second half of the season.
Pardew is in the market for striking reinforcements this month with current loanee Pawel Cibicki, set to be recalled by Leeds and transferred to Polish side Pogon Szczecin.
The 20-year-old Blackburn attacker has endured a tough season to date at Blackburn due to injury and a lack of games.
Brereton suffered a serious knee injury in August which ruled him out of action for three months and he has struggled to break into Tony Mowbray’s starting XI since his return to fitness.
The English forward has managed to make just six appearances in all competitions this term and has largely been used as a substitute at Blackburn.
Brereton is yet to score in any of his outings this season, though did manage to register an assist in the 3-2 victory over Oldham in the EFL Cup.
