Kevin Phillips expects Jack Grealish to reassess his situation at Aston Villa in the summer and claims he could join Manchester City or Manchester United.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, the former Villa striker insists the 25-year-old is worth more than £100million and is a more attractive option than Jadon Sancho.
The Telegraph reports the Midlands giants have placed a £100million price tag on the attacker after his incredible start to the season.
The England international has scored five goals and contributed six assists in nine Premier League games this term.
A £100million transfer would make him the most expensive British player ever, ahead of Gareth Bale who moved to Real Madrid from Tottenham for £89million in 2013.
“It is crazy,” Phillips told Football Insider.
“£100million but he is a player that is just getting better and better. At times he is theatrical but technically he is an outstanding player. He is one of the best players in the Premier League.
“Would someone be willing to pay £100million? I think they would. I do not think it will happen in January but at some point soon I think someone will.
“He is still young and he could play at the top for five, six, seven years.
“Only the wealthiest clubs could afford to sign him, the likes of United or City. Sancho is worth over £100million and for me, I would rather have Grealish.
“I cannot see him leaving in January, he is committed to the club this season but I think he will reassess next summer.”
