Rangers are ready to offload fans favourite Graham Dorrans this summer, Football Insider understands.
The central midfielder, who joined from Norwich City for £1.5million in the summer of 2017, has made just three appearances this season and only 23 in total for his boyhood club.
Steven Gerrard is an admirer of Dorrans but the player has undergone knee surgery this campaign after missing a big chunk of his debut season with serious ankle problems.
A club source has told Football Insider Rangers are preparing to call time on the former Scotland international’s time at the club even though he has one more year remaining on his contract.
The Ibrox hierarchy recognise it will be difficult to find buyers for Dorrans given his wretched injury record over the last 18 months and the fact he turns 32 next month.
One possibility is that the club agree a parting of the ways with the midfielder through mutual consent in which they pay up some of his contract and free him up to find new employers.
Dorrans looked impressive in is early months at Rangers and was a key member of the midfield, but the likes of Scott Arfield, Ryan Jack, Ross McCrorie and January signing Glen Kamara are ahead of him in the pecking order.
In other Rangers transfer news, it can be REVEALED the club are working on a deal to sign a player who has got Sir Alex Ferguson drooling.
