Exclusive: Robinson wowed by unseen Spurs player, tells Mourinho to start him
Paul Robinson has called on Jose Mourinho to select new Tottenham signing Joe Rodon “sooner rather than later”.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, the former Spurs and England goalkeeper backed the 22-year-old defender to improve under the Portuguese.
Rodon joined the north London club for a reported £11million fee plus a potential £5million in add-ons from Swansea City on last week’s domestic deadline.

Football Insider revealed on deadline day that the Welsh international was heading to Tottenham after a breakthrough in talks.
Rodon was not signed in time to be registered for Spurs’ Europa League campaign and is therefore unavailable for their game against LASK on Thursday.
But Robinson has called on Mourinho to partner him with the experience Toby Alderweireld in the league so he can develop.

He told Football Insider: “I’d like to see him play, I rate him.
“I think he’s a top defender. The fact that Spurs didn’t go into the European market and he’s a player they’ve trailed for a while tells you a lot.
“I think he will improve, there’s a lot more to come.
“Playing under Mourinho, he will get better. I would like to see him in the team sooner rather than later to get experience and develop playing alongside Alderweireld.”
Spurs are yet to keep a clean sheet this season in nine games across all competitions.
Mourinho has identified Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez as his first-choice centre-back pairing.
However, the Englishman missed Sunday’s game with a hamstring injury picked up on international duty but could return for the visit of LASK.
