Ruben Amorim has made a decision about who he wants as his backroom staff ahead of his expected arrival at Man United, sources have told Football Insider.

All of Erik ten Hag’s backroom staff remain in place at Old Trafford, with Ruud van Nistelrooy currently taking charge of the team as the interim manager.

Ten Hag got his way over the summer by making changes on the coaching side, but their futures remain in the air after his dismissal.

Well-placed sources have told Football Insider that Amorim would like someone in place in the coaching setup who already knows and understands the club’s predicament.

The 39-year-old has his own ideas about what he wants to do at United, but he will discuss keeping existing coaches on with club chiefs.

Ruben Amorim still wants to bring his own team to Man United

Amorim is set to have talks about retaining United’s existing coaching staff, but he would also like the scope to bring in his own team too.

The current Sporting boss would like to have some familiar coaches with him as he embarks on the Premier League for the first time in his managerial career.

United will host Chelsea on Sunday (3 November) in their next Premier League fixture as they look to get back to winning ways after losing against West Ham 2-1 last weekend.

The 20-time champions are currently seven points adrift of the top four positions.
