Exclusive: South-based club open talks to sign Leeds attacker

Stevenage have opened talks to sign Leeds United striker Sam Dalby on loan, Football Insider understands.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that the League Two club are working on a deal to take the former Leyton Orient forward for the rest of the season.

Leeds are eager for the 19-year-old to secure regular game time at senior level after spending his time in their Under-23s since signing from Orient in January of last year.

The source told Football Insider that Leeds are “very confident” a deal can be agreed for Dalby to head out of Elland Road by the 31 January cut-off.

Dalby moved to Elland Road after playing 16 matches in League Two for Orient but has yet to make his senior bow for Leeds despite Marcelo Bielsa demonstrating huge faith in the club’s youth players this season.
