Southampton are in talks to sign highly-rated Real Madrid teenager Pedro Paulo Lubamba, Football Insider sources understand.

Lubamba has linked up Southampton Under-18s for pre-season training and the 15-year-old is understood to have impressed the club's coaching staff during his time at St Mary's.

The left-sided winger is regarded as one of the best young talents in world football after catching the eye for Real Madrid's youth sides.

A number of clubs across Europe, including Portuguese giants Benfica and Porto have made offers for Lubamba, but a well-placed source has told Football Insider that Southampton are in pole position to land the exciting attacker.

Angolan born Lubamba is eligible to move to a new club when he turns 16 in September and Southampton are ready to offer the youngster the chance to move to England.

Southampton are looking to acquire some exciting young talents to help develop into first-team players in the future and the idea with Lubamba is to play with the club's Under-18s and Under-23s next season.
