Southampton are among a number of Premier League clubs eyeing Queens Park Rangers attacker Bright Osayi-Samuel, Football Insider can reveal.

The forward, 22, has been attracting interest from a host of top-flight sides following a series of eye-catching performances for the Londoners in recent weeks.

A Southampton source has told Football Insider the club have been making regular checks on Osayi-Samuel as they prepare a late-window swoop.

The scouting reports on the player have been positive and made clear he is capable of making the step-up to the Premier League.

His stand-out performances has seen him become a key player in Mark Warburton's side and the winger is earning himself a reputation as one of the most exciting attackers in the Football League.

The Saints are keen to add to their attacking options at St Mary's and Osayi-Samuel fits the profile for the type of player they are interested in as he has high potential resale value.

Osayi-Samuel's current deal is due to expire this summer and QPR are keen to tie him down a new deal.

But the Championship outfit are bracing themselves for interest from clubs before the close of the transfer window.

Osayi-Samuel has scored five goals and provided five assists in all competitions this season, with three of those goals coming in his last four outings.

The former Blackpool ace has made 74 appearances for QPR, scoring nine goals and laying on six assists.
