Sunderland have set a £20-30million price tag on Chris Rigg amid interest from the Premier League and Europe, sources have told Football Insider.

Chelsea, Man United, and Real Madrid are all monitoring the 17-year-old and the progress he’s making for the Black Cats.

However, the Championship side are doing everything they can to ward off interest from other teams in the teenager.

Regis Le Bris’ side are currently top of the Championship and pushing for promotion back to the Premier League, with Rigg playing a key role in that.

The central midfielder won the EFL Championship Goal of the Month and Young Player of the Month for September as he continues to impress with his performances.

Rigg is currently under contract at the Stadium of Light until 2027, putting the club in a strong negotiating position should any offers be submitted.

Chris Rigg is catching plenty of attention away from Sunderland

Rigg has been a regular in Sunderland’s team this season and has featured in all 12 of their fixtures in the Championship.

The teenager was used in a cameo role in the opening game but has since started every fixture, being used in various different positions as he has showcased versatility.

Rigg has scored three times this season, which is already an improvement on the two goals he notched in his breakout campaign last season.

Rigg has managed to represent England at the Under-18 level but has yet to break into the England Under-21s setup.

Sunderland will be back in action on Saturday (2 November) against QPR as they look to retain their position at the top of the league.
