Swansea City are working on a deal to sign Nottingham Forest striker Jason Cummings before the window cut-off, Football Insider understands.
The Swans are in the market for a new forward as they prepare to offload Oli McBurnie to Sheffield United for around £20million.
A source at the Welsh club has told Football Insider they have registered their interest in recruiting Cummings, who is out of contract at the City Ground in a year’s time.
Cummings’ future is up in the air as he has failed to establish himself at Forest since signing from Hibernian in the summer of 2017.
He has scored four goals in his 17 appearances for the Championship club but spent last season out on loan at League One duo Peterborough United and Luton Town.
Despite interest from clubs north of the border, Cummings is keen to stay on in English football to revive his career and secure a club where he can play regularly.
Swansea have learned that new Forest manager Sabri Lamouchi has given the green light for the forward, who scored prolifically at former club Hibs and has also been on loan at Rangers, to leave his club before next Thursday’s deadline.
In other Swansea City news, it can be REVEALED that the club have made a move to sign an Aston Villa player who Dean Smith may now let go.
