Exclusive: West Brom agree deal to sign West Ham player ahead of Championship rivals

EXCLUSIVE By Pete O’Rourke

West Brom are set to beat Derby and Middlesbrough to West Ham United winger Grady Diangana, Football Insider understands.

A number of Championship clubs are understood to have made enquiries about taking Diangana on loan this summer, but West Brom have moved quickly to agree a deal with West Ham before Thursday’s transfer deadline.

West Brom are in the market for attacking reinforcement this summer and Baggies boss Slaven Bilic knows all about Diangana from his time in charge of West Ham.

Diangana is highly-rated at West Ham after bursting onto the first-team scene last season.

The 21-year-old made his first-team debut in an EFL Cup win against Macclesfield Town, scoring twice in the 8-0 win and he went on to make 17 appearances for the Hammers.

Now, a source close to West Brom, has told Football Insider that he will spend the season on loan at West Brom after a deal was agreed.

England Under-20 international Diangana was rewarded with a new long-term contract in January as reward for his progress.

However, Diangana found himself way down the pecking order in Manuel Pellegrini’s plans this season and West Ham are happy to loan him out.

In other West Brom news, the Baggies make a move to sign Aston Villa senior ace, Stoke also keen.
