West Brom have set their sights on a January swoop for Sheffield United defender Rhys Norrington-Davies, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

Slaven Bilic’s side are expected to use the winter window for reinforcements following a difficult return to the Premier League.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that left-back Norrington-Davies, 21, is on the radar of the West Brom management.

He is currently on a season-long loan at Championship outfit Luton Town after spending last season at League One outfit Rochdale.

Norrington-Davies has caught the eye with his performances for Nathan Jones’ side and received his first Wales call-up last month.

The left-footed defender has started Wales’ last three matches against against Bulgaria, Republic of Ireland and Finland.

He played the full 90 minutes of Wednesday night’s 3-1 Nations League win over Finland as Wales clinched promotion to the competition’s top flight.

Operating in a wing-back role in Wales’ 3-4-3 formation, Norrington-Davies continued the sound impression he has made for the national team.

At club level, the rising star has made nine Championship starts for Luton this season as well as started all three of their EFL Cup fixtures.

He also played 34 times for Rochdale during his loan last season.

Norrington-Davies is still waiting for his Sheffield United first-team debut since graduating from their youth set-up.

He had been on Swansea’s books until the made the move to the Premier League club in 2017 back when they were still in the EFL.
