West Brom are working on a deal to sign Chelsea colossus Trevor Chalobah, Football Insider can reveal.

The Midlands giants have set their sights on recruiting the versatile teenager, 19, as they step up plans to reinforce their squad under new manager Slaven Bilic.

A West Brom source has told Football Insider that the club are keen to land Chalobah on a season-long loan after being impressed by the impact he made at Ipswich Town last campaign.

Chelsea are willing to listen to loan offers for the 6ft 3in rising star, who is an England youth international capped at multiple levels including the Under-20s.

West Brom face competition for the signature of Chalobah, whose brother is England full international Nathaniel Chalobah, who is at Watford after signing from Chelsea two years ago.

Multiple Championship clubs are eager to take the youngster for 2019-20 after he made 35 league starts among 44 appearances for Ipswich last season.

The younger of the Chalobah brothers is predominantly a defensive midfielder who can also slot into a centre-back role.

He has yet to play for the Chelsea first team but has accumulated extensive experience for their Under-23s and Under-18s.

In other West Brom news, it can be REVEALED that the club face competition from European giants for the signature of a centre-forward who has earned rave reviews.
