Exclusive: West Ham plot January player exchange with West Brom
West Ham are weighing up recalling Grady Diangana from West Brom in January and sending Nathan Holland there to replace him, Football Insider can reveal.
The Hammers are plotting the loan exchange as they consider options to strengthen their attacking options in the second half of the season.
A West Ham source has told Football Insider that the exchange of youthful wing duo Diangana and Holland is a “live” option for Manuel Pellegrini.
The Premier League club secured a mid-season recall clause in Diangana’s season-long loan to West Brom that can be activated in the first two weeks of January.
Pellegrini is leaning towards triggering it, although he will bide his time before making a final decision on a transfer that many Irons fans are now demanding.
Intriguingly, Holland, 21, could head to the Hawthorns in exchange in a move that could sweeten the pill for West Brom of losing one of their outstanding performers.
Diangana has made a huge impression at the Hawthorns, producing a series of dazzling performances that have yielded four goals and three assists from 12 Championship matches.
Pellegrini is frustrated at the lack of killer instinct from his senior attacking midfielders, with Felipe Anderson, Manuel Lanzini, Pablo Fornals and Jack Wilshere notably off the boil.
West Ham have scored just 10 goals from 13 Premier League matches this season and, as revealed by Football Insider, have set their sights on signing proven duo in January window.
In addition, they could also recall Diangana, with Holland heading the other way to West Brom.
In the latest West Ham news, it can be REVEALED that the club have agreed a SIX-figure signing agreed after they blow Premier League giants out of the water.
