Noel Whelan has tipped Wolves to sign attacking rising stars Harry Wilson and Tammy Abraham from Liverpool and Chelsea this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Leeds United and Coventry City striker is expecting some major moves from the Midlands giants in this summer’s market.
Football Insider revealed earlier today Wolves are keeping close tabs on attacking midfielder Wilson as Jurgen Klopp mulls over a £25million sale, while Wolves held talks with Chelsea in January about signing £25million-valued striker Abraham on a permanent deal.
“Wolves are a team to watch out for,” Whelan said. “They could be really challenging for the top six next season, I don’t think will be a one-season wonder.
“Nuno is looking to strengthen massively. It doesn’t surprise me they’re looking at Harry Wilson and I could see him fitting in there if Klopp wants to sell.
“He has had a good season at Derby and been integral to their play-off challenge. He scores and creates goals, and would fit well into Wolves’ fluent playing style.
“Tammy Abraham may be going to Wolves as well, and he is an outstanding young striker.”
Wilson has spent the season loan at Derby County and has been instrumental in the club reaching the play-off final with 18 goals and six assists from 48 appearances.
Abraham has also been on loan, at Aston Villa, where his 26 goals once again placed him among the Championship top scorers, and he will go head to head with Wilson at Wembley next Monday.
In other Wolves news, it can be REVEALED that Nuno’s side have leapfrogged Tottenham in race to sign defender who can also play in midfield.
