Expert backs Tottenham to agree new Mikey Moore deal after behind-the-scenes image emerges

Tottenham are in talks to agree a long-term contract with youth sensation Mikey Moore.

That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Moore, 15, has impressed for Spurs’ various youth sides this season, making 14 appearances and registering seven goal contributions.

Wenham previously told this site that Moore is an “outstanding” prospect who is playing well above his level.

He now claims the club are in negotiations to agree a long-term deal with the youngster after impressing in a recent Under 18sdraw with Chelsea.

“It was a 93rd-minute equaliser, we were very close to winning that game against Chelsea which was a shame because not many teams win at Cobham,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Moore continues to be involved and I thought the selection of players was very interesting when the club shared an image of Alan Shearer at the training ground.

“Tottenham chose some academy players to line up next to Shearer. You had Jamie Donley there, a very highly-rated striker.

“Luca Gunter, a very highly-rated England youth goalkeeper. Then two 15-year-olds, one of which being Mikey Moore.

“Tottenham are trying to tie him down to a long-term deal. We can only do so much, we are involving him in everything that we can.

“He’s started in the Youth Champions League and the Under 18s’ League this season.

I get the indication that he will stay and the club are doing everything to make sure that happens.”

In other news, a pundit has claimed Tottenham are ‘laying the groundwork’ for Hugo Lloris upgrade as £44m deal is agreed.
