Expert backs Tottenham to double their money on Joe Rodon as 'surprise' deal done
Tottenham could double their money by selling Joe Rodon next summer.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Rodon’s move to Stade Rennais was confirmed on Monday (1 August) and it is understood that the club, who will play Europa League football this term, will have the option to make the switch permanent for a fee of £18million.
Wenham is expecting the 24-year-old defender’s value to rise “astronomically” this season.
“As I have said all along, I am slightly surprised a lower Premier League club didn’t come in for Joe,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“This is someone who always goes and plays well for his country and he doesn’t have some limited Premier League experience.

“He trains with Son and Kane every day and has worked with Cristian Romero over the last year. He has also worked with some top-class managers like Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte.
“Rennes will be playing in the Europa League next year so there should be lots of games for him. They do have the option to buy as well.
“A lot of people think he will just come back next summer but they have spent a significant amount of money on another centre-half this window and they also recouped £30million by selling one of their defenders to West Ham.
“It is possible that it will become a permanent move and it will certainly put him in the shop window in any event.
“I certainly think, with a consistent run of games and another impressive performance at the World Cup, he will be someone whose values will increase.
“If we were to sell him now then you would be looking at bids of around £10million, whereas he might go for nearer £20million next summer.
“I just think his value will go up astronomically. Good luck to him.”
