Tottenham have 'selection problem' amid Dejan Kulusevski reveal pre-Southampton - Robinson

Paul Robinson has claimed Dejan Kulusevski has been “a huge success” for Tottenham but he is not guaranteed to start against Southampton on Saturday.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-White Hart Lane number one said Antonio Conte has “a selection problem” this weekend regarding Kulusevski and Lucas Moura.

Kulusevski started Tottenham’s final pre-season friendly against AS Roma on Saturday.

As quoted by Football.London (29 July), the winger revealed after the game that his “job” is to provide for Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.

The Sweden international added that his teammates’ finishing is “out of this world.”

When asked by Football Insider if Kulusevski deserved to start the game, Robinson said: “He has been a huge success since he came in.

“The biggest challenge for him is to keep that level of performance.

“He had such an impact, which is hard for a player that has come through the door in January.

“He has had a similar impact to Luis Diaz at Liverpool. Diaz was a player that Spurs looked at and they have certainly got something very similar in Kulusevski.

“The front three is so strong now. The manager has a selection problem this weekend. It will be interesting to see who he goes with.

“I’m sure Kane and Sonny will start. It is just a question as to whether it is Kulusevski, Richarlison or Lucas.

“They will all start 25 games over the course of the season. There will be a rotation.”
