Expert shares 'phenomenal' Everton verdict after what he's seen - 'I can't believe it'

Everton have done a “phenomenal” job to give themselves a fighting chance of staying in the Premier League.

That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Toffees’ survival chances.

Everton remain in the relegation zone but could overtake Leeds if they win their game in hand.

Impressive recent wins over Man United and Chelsea have boosted the Toffees’ survival hopes.

Kenny admits he couldn’t see Frank Lampard’s side getting out of trouble but now admits he thinks they will survive.

“I can’t believe it. I don’t know how Everton have done this,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Don’t get me wrong, they are still in big trouble but they have given themselves a fighting chance.

“But I have been there, in a relegation scrap and it’s so hard.

“A few weeks ago I thought they were dead and gone. There was a run of games against Man United and Chelsea and they went and got six points.

“I just did not see that happening at all. Nothing I saw over the rest of the season told me they could beat those teams.

“Now they can get out of it and you look at the fixtures Leeds have, they are the ones worrying me.

“They still have hard games and at this point of the season, everything could be completely different this time next week.

“That being said, they have done a phenomenal job and they are looking more likely to survive in my opinion.”
