'Needs to be sold', 'Garbage' – Arsenal fans rage at senior star after first-half display v CSKA

Arsenal fans have slammed enforcer Laurent Koscielny after he gave CSKA Moscow a vital away goal in their Europa League quarter-final.

Arsenal took the lead in the crunch game at the Emirates before a string of defensive errors gifted the visitors an equaliser.

Shkodran Mustafi started things off with an attempted clearance that stayed around the Arsenal penalty area.

Granit Xhaka then kicked it straight up in the air just outside the box, Koscielny sprinted out and clattered the CSKA player when he was never going to get the ball.

From the resulting free kick Alesandr Golovin striked the ball past Petr Cech to get a vital away goal – and Arsenal fans aren’t happy with him.

They know this is their route back into the Champions League and keeping a clean sheet in the first leg at home would have given them a solid foundation for the second leg.

However, Alexandre Lacazette, back from injury, scored from the penalty spot after 22 minutes to restore the Gunners’ lead on the night.

Then, Aaron Ramsey and Lacazette got their second to put Arsenal well in control at the break.

Arsenal fans, meanwhile, weren’t about to let Koscielny off so easily.
