Toby Alderweireld posted a Twitter message to his fans on Friday afternoon, saying he was happy to be back with the national team.

Belgium play Saudi Arabia on Tuesday night and Alderweireld's message follows on from comments from manager Roberto Martinez who said that the centre-back is completely fit and ready to play.

That might come as a bit of a shock to Tottenham fans, who haven't seen their enforcer in the Premier League since October.

He did make two appearances in the FA Cup in 2018, against Newport and Rochdale, but his club manager Mauricio Pochettino said that he needed to be brought back into action carefully after suffering a reaction.

Alderweireld posted his message to his official Twitter page on Friday:

The fact that he seems to be fit for Belgium but not for Tottenham has got some fans scared, with one saying that he'd better be back with Spurs as well.

With contract talks still stalled and reports that he might be sold in the summer, another fan said that he really hoped the player didn't turn out to be a snake.

Here are the best reactions from Tottenham fans to Alderweireld's latest message:
