Gabby Agbonlahor has tipped West Ham to sign an upgrade on Vladimir Coufal.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker suggested West Ham need to sell Coufal if they want to qualify for Europe again.

However, it is understood that Bayer Leverkusen are not in talks over a deal despite reports.

The right-back is out of contract at the end of the season but started the campaign as David Moyes' first choice.

He started the eight of the opening 10 Premier League games of the season but has since lost his place to summer signing Thilo Kehrer and Ben Johnson.

The Czech Republic international has played 17 times across all competitions this term but is yet to register a goal or assist.

"I understand Coufal being up for sale," Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

"For me, his delivery is not up to scratch. He hasn't got a great delivery.

"West Ham need to be looking at better players. If they want to get back into Europe next season they need more talented players in that team."

Coufal moved to the London Stadium from Slavia Prague in the summer of 2020 after his compatriot Tomas Soucek made the same move in January.

Both quickly established themselves as fans' favourites but their form has declined in recent months.
