Chelsea will accept bids of between £20-25million for banished defender Trevoh Chalobah, sources have told Football Insider.

The Blues are keen to sell Chalobah before the 30 August deadline to limit their losses under Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) and prevent a potential points deduction.

He has not been training with the Blues’ first team as they look to force through a sale of the academy product.

Chalobah is set to become the latest homegrown star to leave Chelsea for pure profit under PSR, with Conor Gallagher also edging closer to a move to Atletico Madrid.

He made 17 appearances across all competitions last term and was impressive in the final games of Mauricio Pochettino's short-lived Blues reign.

The centre-back is under contract at Stamford Bridge until June 2028 after he was handed a long-term extension two years ago.

Wesley Fofana, Axel Disasi, Tosin Adarabioyo, Benoit Badiashile and Levi Colwill have all since moved ahead of Chalobah in the Chelsea pecking order.

Aston Villa, who will play Champions League football this season, are keen on the former England Under-21 international as their lavish summer spending continues.

Football Insider revealed last month (23 July) that Villa could accept suitable offers for centre-back Diego Carlos before the summer window shuts - while questions remain about Tyrone Mings' fitness linger.
