Alan Hutton has backed Ryan Kent to be a success in the Premier League if he leaves Rangers for Leeds United this summer.

The former Gers and Scotland full-back, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, claims the 23-year-old forward has both the technical ability and work ethic to fit into Marcelo Bielsa's plans at Elland Road.

Kent joined Rangers from Liverpool for around £7million in 2019 after a successful season on loan at Ibrox.

Hutton believes the winger would fit seamlessly into the squad at Leeds and suggests he would quickly establish himself as a fans' favourite.

Asked if Kent would be a good fit for Bielsa's men in the Premier League, Hutton told Football Insider: "I think so, I think he's got the ability - he's young, he's hungry, he's got the determination, he wants to prove people wrong.

"He loves that one-v-one, taking people on and making something happen and I think that's the type of player that Leeds like. Not only that, he works hard.

"I think he fits into Bielsa's plans and how he wants to play and move forward. I can totally see why he's looking at him and I do think he could fit in well at Leeds."

Kent has a total of 17 goals and 13 assists to his name at Rangers so far, with three strikes in five appearances this season.

Leeds currently have the likes of Helder Costa, Jack Harrison and Ian Poveda to call on as wing options.
