Kieran Maguire: Tottenham generating 'substantial money' from NFL after £17.6m+ reveal
Tottenham are making "substantial amounts of money" from hosting NFL games at their stadium.
That is according to football finance expert Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the additional revenue Spurs are generating through their 10-year partnership with the US giants.
The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium opened it's doors to the NFL once again on Sunday as the Falcons took on the New York Jets.
It is the first of two NFL fixtures taking place at the £1billion arena this month.
The Jaguars are set to face the Miami Dolphins on October 17th.
As reported by Football.London (October 7th), all of the net income from food and drink, as well as merchandising profit from the club shop, go to Spurs.
The Sun's Neil Ashton revealed in 2019 that Spurs generate £800,000-per-game from matchday income - approximately £17.6million annually.
Maguire suggested that figure will be inflated handsomely by Tottenham's other sporting and entertainment events.
"I've heard they put up the prices of food and drink for the NFL games," he told Football Insider's Dylan Childs.
"For an average Premier League game, Spurs are estimated to make £800,000 from catering alone.
"If you factor in a couple of NFL games, a couple of fights and a few concerts, we are talking substantial amounts of money.
"Of course they also receive the hosting fee from the NFL as well.
"The stadium was built to be multi-function venue and Spurs are now reaping the rewards of that."
