Liverpool may have found 'incredible' Jordan Henderson replacement after source's £50m+ reveal - pundit

Aurelien Tchouameni could be Jordan Henderson's long-term replacement at Liverpool.

That's according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 22-year-old midfielder.

The France international is under contract until 2024 but it is understood the Monegasque club are willing to sell – with a fee of over £50million mooted.

Kenny insists Tchouameni fits the profile of Henderson's long-term replacement.

"He's already made 130-odd appearances at the top level so that's incredible," Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

"Liverpool need to start thinking about this and for me, he fits the profile of a Henderson replacement.

"He's been a brilliant servant for Liverpool but he can't play forever. We have already seen him drop out of the starting XI a few times for big games this season.

"It's only natural to look for a replacement and if you are going to spend £50million then this is your guy.

"If you are spending that much, Klopp clearly rates him. He will have big shoes to fill but someone has to do it."

Football Insider revealed last month (14 April) that Man City are also pushing hard for in-demand ace Tchouameni.
